The Internet has been recently (as in the past couple of years – I’m writing this at the end of 2016) flooded with videos and images classified as ‘oddly satisfying’. These are usually images of elements that show order and symmetry. And they are beautiful!
See this example as a real-time sample of what Google Search Images returns and you will see what I mean.
But beauty is not only in order, symmetry and patterns. There is also much to appreciate in disarray, chaos and destruction. This is what the work in this site is about.
This is a collection of videos I recorded to show what happens when we expose some common objects to intense heat, mostly made of plastic. My initial work is/will be with kids toys as these are small and show a dramatic effect when melting at high temperatures.
I hope you enjoy these experiments just as much I enjoyed recording and editing them.
